A ideia do projeto InnoGreen surgiu como resposta ao aumento da consciencializa\u00e7\u00e3o da sustentabilidade, por parte dos consumidores. Tendo-se observado maior consumo de produtos \u201camigos\u201d do ambiente (e.g., produtos ecol\u00f3gicos; comida bio; etc), as empresas devem adaptar-se \u00e0s exig\u00eancias do mercado, e mudar a sua oferta.
Adicionalmente, a introdu\u00e7\u00e3o de impostos verdes num futuro pr\u00f3ximo est\u00e3o a coagir as empresas a encontrar solu\u00e7\u00f5es mais verdes.
Alguns obst\u00e1culos na ado\u00e7\u00e3o de medidas mais verdes, por parte dos empreendedores s\u00e3o: descobrir solu\u00e7\u00f5es inovadoras para mudar o seu m\u00e9todo de produ\u00e7\u00e3o; encontrar fornecedores de mat\u00e9rias-primas amigas do ambiente; identificar parceiros que ofere\u00e7am produtos e servi\u00e7os sustent\u00e1veis; detetar canais verdes de fornecimento e entrega; e obter uma \u201ccertifica\u00e7\u00e3o verde\u201d dos seus produtos e\/ou servi\u00e7os.
Existem muitas empresas sediadas na UE que t\u00eam desenvolvido v\u00e1rias ideias inovadoras, oferecendo produtos e servi\u00e7os mais ecol\u00f3gicos.
Por\u00e9m, muitos empreendedores n\u00e3o t\u00eam conhecimento desses exemplos de neg\u00f3cios verdes.
Outro problema \u00e9 que muitos empreendedores n\u00e3o consideram a avalia\u00e7\u00e3o geral de um modelo de neg\u00f3cio como um passo importante, tendo assim dificuldade de compreender que aspetos podem inovar.
